Contemporary art addresses issues and ideas that can be applied beyond the classroom and across the curriculum. Our diverse exhibition program provides a range of opportunities to engage with art in any class.
BEGINNER’S LEVEL 1 hour session
Contemporary Jazz
Contemporary Jazz has its foundation in Jazz technique, combining it with Contemporary techniques, this style emphasizes body awareness and control, and features floorwork. Find freedom through your movement with Contemporary Jazz.
LEVEL 1 hour session
ANALYTICAL FRAMEWORKS
Using the Analytical Frameworks, students will analyse, interpret and respond to contemporary exhibitions and artworks. Providing unique opportunities to experience post-1970 artistic practices, students will investigate the connection of art and culture, and explore how artists communicate meaning and develop a style.
ADVANCE ’S LEVEL 1 hour session
STARTING BLOCK: INSPIRATION & IDEAS
‘Where do I start?’ Exploring ACCD’s contemporary exhibitions, this program will provide students with new ways of thinking about artistic practice, style, inspiration and ideas. By investigate the artistic inspirations and ideas behind artworks and consider how artists have used various art elements, principles, materials and techniques to produce visual effects and aesthetic qualities, and to communicate ideas
